A vintage furniture collection Richards Trunks, made of reclaimed oak wood, leather and old metal are inspired by an English steamer trunk which once belonged to a traveler Tom Richards. Beautiful retro furniture sets are built of exact reproductions of old trunks.

After seemingly circling the globe, a canvas-clad steamer trunk landed at an European antiques market and was used as an inspiration for creating the exclusive collection of vintage furniture ad decorative accessories. It was battered and worn, but its careful construction and handsome detailing marked it as bespoke luggage, crafted in early 20th-century England for a traveler.

A traveler name, according to the brass plate mounted above the latch, was Tom Richards. The trunk made its way to the workshop of Timothy Oulton, where it was painstakingly dismantled. From that well-made, well-traveled trunk, the collection of vintage furniture and decorative accessories, made of reclaimed wood, leather and metal,was born.

Each piece is constructed in precisely the same manner as the original and aged to look as if it has traveled for many years. Reclaimed oak wood frames are clad in water resistant hand waxed canvas, finished with hand hammered pins.

Braced with strips of aged bamboo and trimmed with antiqued brass, vintage furniture and decorative accessories look gorgeous and stylish.

Fitted with leather handles and corner protectors, equipped with brass luggage latches, trunks are excellent for creating luxurious and stylish vintage furniture for retro decor. Drawers are canvas lined and decorated with waxed canvas in beige color to increase the effect of antique trunks.
